The Flatrock Experiment
Mike Raine and Philip Bohm, as 3Pin Productions, are developing 'the Flat Rock Experiment'. This is a recording project using the resources around us: writers, musicians, affordable recording facilities, and drawing on our landscape and heritage.
It is a commercial project with the aim of releasing a CD featuring Tasmanian talent. We have a leaning towards what we would call 'contemporary Folk music', though the exact flavour has yet to be be uncovered. An additional aim is to produce a complementary documentary. Depending on artistic contributions and public interest, we may produce a series of CDs and videos.
3Pin Demo's
See and hear what we are up to.
3Pin Productions are the producers, arrangers and engineers, taking an adventurous and progressive attitude to traditional and contemporary acoustic music, but remaining sensitive to the historical lineage of Folk music here in Tasmania and the world.
Submissions of interest are invited from musicians who reside or have previously resided in Tasmania. However, as you are reading this, the chances are that you are one of Tassie's finest Folkies who have already received a personal invitation.
Flat Rock is a rocky outcrop on the Huon River across from Mosquito Point at Ranelagh. Like many other parts of the Huon, it is a place of tranquility and beauty, though it has its moments when the river is in flood.
