Contributing to the 'Flatrock Experiment'.
If you would like to contribute to 3Pin Productions Flatrock Experiment, please let us know. We are looking for Tasmanian writers and musicians, and we are interested in a predominantly acoustic sound. We are aiming for a high quality release of music with a Tasmanian flavour, and we are also aiming to produce a CD that is innovative and unique.
3Pin Productions will select, arrange and record material. We will invite, from those willing to participate, people to perform on songs, either as singers or musicians. Because we are seeking to stretch the boundaries of the folk genre, we will be trying unconventional musical arrangements. Be prepared for this. If you have a strong emotional attachment to how your music should sound, then this project is probably not for you. If you are willing to have your creations twisted and tortured by us, if you are willing to let go of your own ideas of what is good and proper for your material, and if you are willing to let us experiment with it, then you might be interested in participating. 3Pin Production are really nice guys deep down, and will listen to all you have to offer. Its just that the 'Flatrock Experiment' will be a unified production thematically and not a compilation CD.
What you get out of it is acknowledgement on the CD, a share of profits (after material costs), appropriate royalties (if you are a writer), a chance to hear your music cast in a different way, and the warm, inner glow of having participated. We intend to produce a complementary video of the development of this project. Through participating, you get a chance to appear in this documentary (and, of course, allow us to include you in it).
